My only real issue with bowling was; inconsistency, and now after all these years I finally know why. It was a combination of poor drilling and lack of knowledge about PAP, top weight and other more modern terms that the pro shops I went to obviously didn't know how to do or didn't care for.
That will hopefully change now that I plan to get back into it but this time around; I will do it right and get it drilled to my exact specifications. My average was around 186 or so, and my high game was 269, for what it's worth.
I went and tried bowling a couple games last Sunday and lets just say....Wow, am I rusty. But it was fun and I miss it, so I'm going again this Sunday, just to make sure it's something I wanna get back into.

I like bowling (though I'm no good at it.) Learning about PAP and drilling doesn't sound like my cup of tea, but if you like it, more power to you =) Myself, I can have just as much fun striking out as getting a strike. Mmm, delicious mixed metaphors.

Yeah, PAP and all that other crap can be irritating, but I let the pro shops handle that stuff. I just bowl because I love it and try not to get too caught up in the technical jargon lol.
I do tell straight or beginning bowlers though, learning the basics, such as proper approach, release, hooking/curving the ball can open up a whole new world to them and they can have even more fun; just like anything else I suppose. I know once I learned(taught myself, learned the hard way sadly) but never regret doing so.
Speaking of striking out, I do miss playing baseball(amongst many others)too.
